How Early Treatment Works

Addressing issues at a young age often allows for simpler, more effective, and more affordable treatments compared to waiting until later years.
We also offer Invisalign First, a clear aligner treatment designed specifically for young children.
Laying the Foundation
After your child's initial evaluation, Dr. Cox may recommend early intervention, known as Phase 1 treatment, to address developing orthodontic concerns.
Phase 1 treatment typically lasts eight to 12 months and uses custom treatments—such as expanders, partial braces, or Invisalign First—to create the space needed for proper jaw and tooth alignment.
An early approach helps reduce the need for more extensive treatment later on. Once Phase 1 is complete, we'll continue monitoring your child's dental development with regular check-ups.
Precision With Phase 2
Phase 2 treatment typically begins between ages 11 and 14 once most of your child's adult teeth have fully emerged.
If their smile needs further refinement, Dr. Cox will create a personalized treatment plan using braces or Invisalign to perfect their bite and alignment.

Invisalign
Invisalign is great—especially if your teen prefers the discretion of transparency. Invisalign for teens are designed for your teen’s specific needs.
The plastic aligners have special tabs at the back to accommodate your teen’s growing molars and blue markings on the plastic that fade to ensure your teen is wearing their aligners as often as prescribed. You’ll also get a few extra sets of clear aligners in case they get lost.
Custom Braces
With braces, we’ll do a quick and painless video scan. The software we use chooses the ideal braces brackets shape for the best possible outcome. Then, Dr. Cox attaches the brackets to your teeth using custom 3D printed trays.
Because your braces are custom, you’ll have fewer adjustments and appointments. We also see less inflammation and discomfort and less time wearing braces, with better results!
